The Paris and District Pipe Band trains its pupils with the aim of integrating them into the band. It is the real purpose of training, for bagpipe and drums as well.
Personal progress and band practices require regular attendance in training sessions.
To ensure a good technical level, and teaching which proceeds with
better conditions, the training has been divided in different stages :
Bagpipe training :
- 1st level : technical basics, teacher : Yves Toanen
- 2nd level : applying technique to the easiest tunes of the band's repertoire, teacher : Julian Floc'h
- 3nd level : applying technique to the more difficult tunes of the band's repertoire, teacher : Patrick Le Dévéhat
- 4th level : working on musicality and joining the band, teacher : William Thomas
A practice is necessary, (a long one is better), the bagpipe can be purchased later on.
Training in the drums section proceeds in two stages :
The practice is called a pad, you also need a pair of drumsticks "pipe band".
Teaching takes place :
On Saturdays, centre de loisirs Comtesse de Ségur - Les Lilas :
- from 2.00pm to 4.00 pm : training with practice,
- from 4.00pm to 6.00pm : training with bagpipe.
On Fridays, centre de loisirs de Clichy, from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
